CONCERTS IN SWEDEN 2025 - WHAT´S HAPPENING IN GOTHENBURG

We at Avalon are eagerly looking forward to the concerts that have been booked so far in our beloved city. We feel somehow anchored to music as a cultural expression, as we are, after all, a design and art hotel. Stureplansgruppen has published a guide on where to eat, party, and stay during the concerts taking place around the country. Avalon is mentioned, but here we wanted to elaborate a bit on what’s happening specifically in Gothenburg.

Gothenburg-born Sarah Klang is up first, and if you’re not familiar with her music, she has something truly exciting going on. She has been active since 2020, but it is with the 2021 album VIRGO that Sarah, in this writer’s opinion, finds her sound. Last year, she released a new album and will perform at Pustervik in the city on March 5.

The red-hot band Dina Ögon will also perform an impressive six concerts at Pustervik. They play a kind of hybrid pop that moves between pop, psychedelic rock, jazz, and soul. With hits like Tombola 94, Berget, and most recently Det Läcker, the Stockholm-based band has made its mark on popular music. You’ll find them in Pustervik’s atmospheric venue on March 31, April 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.

It’s also impossible not to mention that one of Sweden’s modern classic troubadours will perform. A name that can only be compared to legends like Evert Taube, Fred Åkerström, and Cornelis Vreeswijk – yes, we’re talking about Håkan Hellström, who will perform in Gothenburg. This will be Mr. Hellström’s tenth concert at Ullevi, something we at Avalon are very much looking forward to. “It’s a staggering number that this is my tenth concert at Ullevi, for someone who thought the gig at Jazzhuset in May 2000 was crossing the finish line. But then a voice in my head says – forget that now, Håkan. Just go for it, don’t apologize, just accept how crazy and big life became,” said Håkan Hellström in a press release. There will be three concerts in total, on June 6, 7, and 13. Speaking of troubadours, the beloved Björn Rosenström will also have a concert on April 25 at Trägår’n.

Roxette is also making a small comeback on July 23 and 24, with frontman Per Gessle at the helm. Their timeless hits will once again echo at Trägår’n, an excellent opportunity to visit our wonderful city. After Marie Fredrikssons tragic passing, Lena Philipsson will attempt to fill the large shoes along with mr. Gessle, an exciting combo.

The last major booking we will mention is the legendary band AC/DC, who have announced they will be coming to Ullevi on July 28 and August 1. Rock history will never forget AC/DC, and it will surely be an unforgettable night. Back in Black, Highway to Hell, Thunderstruck – the list of hits goes on. We can also almost guarantee a spectacular show at the iconic Ullevi.
With all this in store, Gothenburg promises an action-packed year, one we hope you’ll spend in our company. Feel free to book a room, big or small, to experience one of the cornerstones of culture – music! You can also check out Stureplansgruppen’s guide at the link below.
